58 events. I will be at 10.

Body · Karla

I pick every event on this calendar myself. There are no attendance figures here, because I do not run these events and I am not going to publish a guess as a head count. If a number ever comes from an organiser, it will say so.

Signature features

The hard part is walking in the first time.

Three features built for the person standing outside the door, deciding whether to open it.

01

Who you will meet

Each listing names the host and the speakers, linked, so you recognise a face before you walk in and have something to open with when you get there.

02

Start here

A short, honest path for first-timers: which rooms are easiest to walk into cold, what actually happens when you arrive, and the things nobody tells you beforehand.

03

The people behind it

Interviews with the organisers and builders who actually make this scene, published alongside the events they run, so the calendar has faces attached to it.

The work

No keynote, no badge scanner, just the room.

From the Community topic

The thinking behind this concept

Why Save You a Seat.

Posture
A person who knows everyone, writing to someone who knows nobody. Warm and first-person, built on the observation that the hard part of a local scene is not finding the events, it is walking into your first one alone. The named hosts and speakers already sitting in the data become faces and introductions. The scene is presented through one person’s relationships rather than as a database.
When it fits
Pick this if growing the community and lowering the barrier for newcomers matters more than being the definitive record. It is the strongest direction for word-of-mouth growth, and the only one where People is the point rather than an addition, which suits People shipping first. Its risk is that it leans hardest on the editor personally.
